Intimate Partner Violence

On February 2nd at 12:55pm, Belleville police responded to a residence in the city’s west end regarding a report of a domestic dispute. It was reported that a verbal argument had escalated and that a male had punched a female and damaged the staircase banister inside the house.

As a result of investigation, a 39-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault
  • Mischief under $5000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order
 

He was held for a bail hearing.

Intimate Partner Violence

On February 2nd at 5:36pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the city’s west end. It was reported that a verbal argument had escalated, and a male was barricading himself inside a room along with three other individuals.

Upon arrival, officers gained entry to the room and observed several smashed items on the ground. During the investigation, it was revealed that the male had made threats to one of the females present, including that he was going to stab her. He began to smash her personal property and then used a piece of the broken debris to swing at her.

Further investigation uncovered that prior incidents had escalated during earlier arguments, with the male suspect physically assaulting the female victim, including slapping the female in the face and grabbing her by the throat.

It was further learned the male was on conditions to not communicate with the female.

As a result of investigation, an 18-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault X6
  • Assault with a weapon X3
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Uttering threats X2
  • Take motor vehicle without consent
  • Break and enter
  • Mischief under $5000
  • Forcible confinement
  • Failure to comply with an undertaking x4

He was held for a bail hearing.
