Mischief
On January 8th at 7:10pm, Belleville Police responded to an apartment complex in the city’s east end regarding a reported disturbance. It was reported that a male resident had been banging on another resident’s door with a crowbar. The crowbar was seized prior to police arrival.
Upon police arrival, it was determined that the male had been banging on a female resident’s door after becoming upset about noise, causing damage to the door.
As a result, Van Johnston, 65-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with mischief under $5000. He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in February.
Child Pornography
On January 8th, the Belleville Police Service and O.P.P. Internet Child Exploitation Units, Criminal Investigations Division, Emergency Response Unit and the Technological Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Quinte West, Ontario.
As a result, Douglas Barry, 64-year-old Quinte West man, was arrested and charged for possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material. He was released on Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in March.
