Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 73 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on December 9, 2025 to 5:00 am on December 10, 2025.

Break and Enter

On December 9th at 8:05am, Belleville Police, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit and K9 Unit, attended a business in the downtown area regarding a report of a break and enter. Upon arrival, staff reported that the door to the business was found unlocked when they arrived that morning. They also observed that the interior had been ransacked and that personal property was inside.

During the investigation, officers located a male inside the business.

As a result, Andrew Borchert, 43-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

  • Break and enter
  • Mischief under $5000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

He was held for a bail hearing.

Stunt Driving

On December 9th at 8:47am, Belleville Police were conducting speed enforcement in the city’s east end when they stopped a vehicle that was travelling 138km/h in a 60 km/h zone. Officers spoke with the male driver and, during the investigation, seized cannabis from his pocket as well as brass knuckles.

As a result, a 17-year-old Belleville male was arrested and charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Stunt driving under the HTA
  • Possess more than one license under the HTA
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available under the CCA
 

He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in February.
