Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 93 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on November 3, 2025 to 5:00 am on November 4, 2025.
Animal Cruelty
On November 3rd at 10:17am, Belleville Police responded to an animal welfare complaint. Upon investigation, police discovered that a male had hit, bitten, and thrown a cat against a wall. It was also reported that the male had previously bit another animal.
It was also learned the male was bound by a Probation Order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
Animal Welfare Officers attended with police and located the male. As a result, a 22-year-old Belleville resident, was arrested and charged with:
- Cruelty to animals causing unnecessary pain, suffering or injury X2
- Failure to comply with probation order
- Uttering threats
He was held for a bail hearing.
The cat has been rehomed since the incident.
