BELLEVILLE, ON — The Belleville Police Service, in partnership with the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) and the Government of Ontario, is proud to take part in Ontario’s annual Crime Prevention Week, running from November 2–8, 2025.

This year’s theme, “Working Together to Protect Ontario,” emphasizes that crime prevention is everyone’s responsibility—it takes the combined efforts of police, government, community partners, businesses, and residents to protect our neighbourhoods.

“Community safety is everyone’s responsibility,” said Chief Murray Rodd. “Crime prevention starts with awareness and action. When police and the public work together to share information and take proactive steps, we can reduce opportunities for crime and build safer, stronger neighbourhoods.”

Throughout the week, the Belleville Police Service will be engaging with the community through several events and initiatives:

• Crime Prevention Information Pop-Up Booth – Visit us at the Quinte Mall on November 4^th from 10am-2pm for crime prevention tips and community safety resources.
• Coffee with a Cop – Join us at Benji’s Coffee Bar located at 29 Market St, on November 4^th from 9am-11am for a casual chat about community safety.
• Online Safety Tips All Week Long – Follow us on our social media channels for daily #CPWeek2025 tips focused on personal safety, fraud prevention, property protection, and more.

Crime Prevention Tips:

• Report suspicious activity or crimes in progress immediately by calling 9-1-1.
• Share anonymous information about criminal activity with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.crimestoppers.ca.
• Use good locks, outdoor lighting, and alarms to deter theft.
• Make your home look lived-in when away—leave lights on and have mail collected.
• Get to know your neighbours and look out for one another.
• Anticipate. Observe. Report. Participate. PREVENT.
