Disturbance / Warrants
On April 25, 2025, at 1:25pm, the Belleville Police were dispatched to an east end residence for a report of a male trespassing in a backyard with his trousers pulled down to his feet. Officers arrived on scene and located the 36-year-old male of no fixed address. The suspect was wanted on 3 separate warrants involving charges of Fail to Comply with Probation, Theft Under $5000, Spousal Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Failing to Comply with an Undertaking. The accused was taken into custody and held for a bail haring scheduled on April 26, 2025. The suspects name is not being released due to the domestic related charges.
Assault
On April 26, 2025, at 8:30am, the Belleville Police attended an address on Emily Street in regards to a disturbance. The officers learned that a 22-year-old man from Belleville was just released from jail and arrived at home to find another man in the residence. The accused punched the male victim in the face causing some injury. Police arrested the accused for Assault and held him for a bail hearing on April 27, 2025.
Mischief
On April 26, 2025, at 12:45pm, the Belleville Police attended an address on Church Street in regards to a male causing some disturbance issues and may have stolen some staff personal property. Police located the 64-year-old male suspect, Joseph Reed, of no fixed address and arrested him for Mischief and Uttering Threats. The accused was held for a bail hearing on April 27, 2025.
Intimate Partner Violence
On April 26, 2025, at 2:50pm, the Belleville Police attended an address on Front Street regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers learned that a female on scene was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, a 44-year-old man from Belleville. Police arrested the accused and charged him with 3 counts of Breach of Probation and Assault. The accused was transported to the police station where he was held later for a bail hearing scheduled on April 27, 2025.
Robbery
On April 27, 2025, at 2:40am, the Belleville Police responded to the area of Herchimer Avenue and Victoria Avenue in response to a robbery complaint. The victim was approached by two younger males. One male produced a firearm and demanded money. Officers located one of the suspects shortly after speaking with the victim. Police took the youth male into custody and found him to be in the possession of a very real looking firearm replica. The 16-year-old youth male from Belleville was charged with numerous weapons offences and breaching a court ordered release as well as a probation order. The accused was held for a bail hearing on April 28, 2025.
