Mischief
On September 29th at 10:39pm, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a disturbance. It was reported that a male was throwing items at the door and attempting to gain entry. The male had also punched a window, causing it to break, before taking off on foot.
Upon further investigation, officers learned that the male was attempting to contact a female inside the residence, breaching the conditions of his release order which prohibits communication with the female or being at any place she is known to be.
As a result, officers located, arrested, and charged a 45-year-old Belleville man with:
- Mischief under $5000
- Failure to comply with release order X2
He was held for a bail hearing.
Liquor Licence and Control Act
On September 29th at 9:20pm, Belleville Police responded to a business on North Front St. regarding an unwanted person. It was reported that a male had been removed from the establishment but attempted to re-enter by kicking the doors. Upon arrival, officers located the male nearby. Officers observed that he was intoxicated, and that he became verbally aggressive toward police.
For his own safety, a 34-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address was arrested and charged under the Liquor Licence and Control Act with being intoxicated in a public place.
