Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 103 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on September 8, 2025 to 5:00 am on September 9, 2025.
Theft
On July 15th, Belleville Police launched an investigation into a reported theft at a north end business. Through investigation, officers identified a male suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest. The male was advised of the warrant and later turned himself in.
As a result, on September 8th, Michael Mowers, 40-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting. He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
Mischief
On September 9th at 2:04am, Belleville Police responded to an apartment downtown for a reported break and enter in progress. Upon arrival, officers contained the unit and confirmed no one was inside. Officers observed two windows to be damaged, but no entry to the unit was gained. The incident is being investigated as mischief and remains ongoing.
