Intimate Partner Violence
On September 24th at approximately 7:20pm, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, it was reported that a verbal argument escalated, resulting in a male assaulting a female by hitting and choking her. It was further reported that the victim was pushed into a door while holding their child, causing both to strike their heads.
As a result of investigation, a 30-year-old Yarker man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.
He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in November.

On September 25th at 12:06am, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a report of a domestic dispute. It was reported that a verbal argument led to a male grabbing a female by the neck and slapping her.
As a result of investigation, a 25-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault.
He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
Liquor Licence and Control Act
On September 24th at 9:12pm, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a report of an unwanted person. A male had attended the residence of a female and refused to leave. When officers arrived, the male had already left and was not located nearby.
At 10:29pm, police were contacted again after the male returned. Officers attended and located him walking on Dundas St. E. The male was observed to be extremely intoxicated.
For his own safety, a 34-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address was arrested and charged under the Liquor Licence and Control Act with being intoxicated in a public place.
