Breach of Release Order
On August 30th at 2:50pm, Belleville Police conducted a walk-through at the Belleville Fairgrounds. During patrol, officers observed a male known to be in breach of his Release Order and Undertaking. As a result, Michael Moon, 50-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged for:
- Failure to comply with Undertaking
- Failure to comply with Release Order
He was held for a bail hearing.
Impaired Driver
On August 30th at 8:15pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of a vehicle swerving across the road, including into oncoming traffic. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, where they observed the female driver exhibiting signs of impairment. As a result, Shay Hill, 35-year-old Belleville woman, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus, as well as failure to stop under the Highway Traffic Act. She was released on an Undertaking with a court date in October.
Assault
On August 31st at 1:20am, Belleville Police responded to a disturbance in the city’s east end. Upon arrival, officers located one male and two females. Officers spoke to all parties where it was reported that the male had punched a female earlier in the night after a verbal altercation. As a result of investigation, a 36-year-old Alberta man was arrested and charged for Assault. He was held for a bail hearing.
Stunt Driving
On September 1st at 10:13am, Belleville Police were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 37 when a vehicle was recorded driving at 182 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone. As a result, an 18-year-old Belleville man was charged with stunt driving under the Highway Traffic Act and issued a summons with a court date in October. His vehicle was impounded for 14 days and his license suspended for 30 days.

Between September 1st and September 2nd, Belleville Police stopped 47 vehicles for various traffic offences.
