Shoplifting

On October 27th at 4:02pm, Belleville Police responded to a business in the city’s east end regarding a report of shoplifting. It was reported that a female had left the store with a cart full of groceries without paying.

Upon arrival, officers located the female outside the business and observed her with the cart of groceries. Officers reviewed video footage and observed that the woman was seen in the store alone and exited through the entrance without making payment.

As a result of investigation, 42-year-old Belleville woman, was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft under $5000 – shoplifting
  • Fail to comply with probation order

 

She was held for a bail hearing.

Assault

On October 27th at 9:49am, Belleville Police responded to a business in the city’s east end regarding a report of an unwanted person. It was reported that a female was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises.

Upon arrival, officers assisted security in escorting the woman out. During the process, she pulled her head back and struck a security guard in the face.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with assault. She was released on an Undertaking with a court date scheduled for December.
