Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 101 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on March 5, 2026 to 5:00 am on March 6, 2026.
Threats, Fraud, Mischief
On March 5th, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s west end regarding an incident that occurred on March 2nd. Upon arrival, it was reported that a male had attended a female’s residence, banged on the windows, and smashed a window attempting to gain entry. It was also reported that the male had used her credit card to make multiple unauthorized transactions and had made threats towards her.
As a result of police investigation, officers located and arrested the male. During the arrest he attempted to flee from police but was apprehended a short distance away.
As a result, a 47-year-old Madoc man was arrested and charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Fraud under $5000
- Mischief under $5000
- Resist peace officer
- Fail to comply with probation order
