Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision
On March 21st at 11:25pm, Belleville Police, Fire and Hastings Quinte Paramedics responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Dundas Street West.
A 19-year-old Belleville male was extracted from his vehicle and transported to Kingston General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
As a result of investigation, John Golka, 49-year-old Quinte West man, was arrested, charged, and held for a bail hearing.
In the afternoon of March 22nd, the 19-year-old, identified as Samuel Brown, succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing and updates will be provided as they become available.
Mischief
On March 22nd at 7:14am, Belleville Police attended a residence in the city’s west end regarding a report of an unwanted person. It was reported that an unknown female had attended the residence and was refusing to leave. Upon arrival, officers located the woman inside. Further investigation revealed she had damaged a door frame by kicking it.
As a result, a 42-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged with:
- Mischief under $5000
- Unlawfully in dwelling house
She was held for a bail hearing.
Intimate Partner Violence
On March 21st at 4:32am, Belleville Police attended a business on Bell Boulevard in response to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, it was reported that a verbal argument between a male and female had escalated into a physical confrontation.
As a result of investigation, a 23-year-old Prince Edward County male was arrested and charged with assault – spousal. He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in May.
Intimate Partner Violence
On March 20th at 11:14am, Belleville Police spoke with a female regarding a domestic dispute. It was reported that a male attended her residence, made threats, and raised his fist toward her.
As a result of investigation, a 33-year-old Belleville male was arrested and charged with:
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Assault – spousal
He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in May.
Mischief
On March 20th at 5:26am, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was reported that a verbal argument occurred between a male and a female, after which the male left the residence. He later returned and caused property damage, including smashing a picture frame, a door frame, and a window.
As a result, a 32-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with two counts of Mischief under $5,000. He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in May.
