Impaired Driver Arrested After Failing to Stop for Police
On June 26th at 6:57pm, Belleville Police received a report of a vehicle being driven erratically in the city’s east end on Highway 2.
An officer located the suspect vehicle, which was observed swerving on the road and travelling significantly below the posted speed limit. Police activated their emergency lights in attempt to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver failed to stop.
Officers were eventually able to position their cruisers in front and behind the vehicle at a red light to prevent further movement.
As a result of the investigation, Amber Soble, 45-year-old Kingston woman, was arrested and charged with:
- Flight from peace officer
- Operation of a motor while impaired
- Refusal to provide a breath sample
Soble was held in custody until sober and was later released on an Undertaking. She is scheduled to appear in court in Belleville in August 2025.
