On the 16th of June, Richard Caird was located in the city of Belleville.  Police would like to thank community residents and our media partners for their continued efforts in locating Richard.

The Belleville Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 56-year-old Richard Caird but he uses the first name “Robin” who was last observed walking westbound on Harder Dr. from Palmer Rd., at approximately 7:00am on the 12th of June. 

Caird is described as:

– 5’11”, thin build

-long grey/white beard

-red balding hair

-wearing black sweater with orange writing

-black pants

-red backpack

Traffic enforcement results in two separate stunt driving charges

On June 11th, members of the Belleville Police Traffic Safety Unit conducted speed enforcement in the city’s east end.  Several Provincial Offence Notices were issued and two separate drivers were charged with stunt driving.  A 20-year-old male from Belleville and a 32-year-old female from Shannonville were both charged for stunt driving. Both drivers had their driver’s licenses suspended for 30 days and their vehicles were impounded for 14 days. Both drivers are required to attend court in August.

Domestic dispute results in arrest

On June 12th at 12:20am, police attended a residence in the city’s north end, after receiving reports of an active domestic dispute.  Upon arrival, police spoke to the male and female involved. Through investigation, police learned the male had physically assaulted the female, which lead to the female locking herself in a room for safety, until police arrived. As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault.  The male was later released on an Undertaking and is required to attend court in July.

Impaired Driving

On June 11th at 11:30pm, officers on patrol observed an erratic driver in the area of Bleecker Ave and Pine St.  A vehicle stop was conducted and an investigation began as to the sobriety of the driver. The male driver exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The driver was transported to the Belleville Police Service, where breath samples were obtained and registered in excess of the legal limit. As a result, 23-year-old Nathan Channell of Belleville was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operation with over 80 milligrams. He was released on an Undertaking, with a court date in July and his driver’s license is suspended for 90 days.
