Arrested on Warrants

On the 4th of June at 2:33pm, Belleville Police responded to an apartment building in the city’s east end after receiving information that there was a male present who was wanted on several arrest warrants.  Police arrived, located the male and arrested him without incident on the strength of the arrest warrants.   He was wanted for failing to comply with a probation order and failing to comply with an Undertaking.  Following their investigation, police also learned that at the time of his arrest, the male was currently breaching both the orders by being in the company of a specific female.  As a result, he was charged with breach of probation and failing to comply with an Undertaking.  He was held for a bail hearing.

Reporting a false shooting incident leads to public mischief and criminal harassment charges for a Belleville man

On the 4th of June at 9:19am, Belleville Police and Hasting-Quinte Paramedics responded to reports of a shooting where a female had been shot and her husband was dead in an apartment located in the city’s central core.  The call triggered an immediate response from numerous police resources.  When police arrived, they cleared the apartment only to locate a 57-year-old female resident safe and sound completely unaware of what someone had reported.  Police began an investigation into the identity of the caller.  Police learned that a male had been harassing the female victim for some time and that he had fabricated the 911 call reporting the shooting to continue his harassment.  As a result of the investigation, Timothy Hicks, 58-years-old of Belleville was arrested and charged with criminal harassment and public mischief.  He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in July.
