Impaired Driver, Motor Vehicle Collision
On July 7th at approximately 5:45pm, Belleville Police responded to call in the area of Queen St. and John St. regarding a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, police learned that a car had driven over bushes in a yard, struck another vehicle, and then fled the scene. Officers located a damaged vehicle that was stopped nearby with a male in the driver’s seat. Officers spoke to the male who was observed to be impaired. Officers also learned that he was in breach of his probation by operating a vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Belleville resident, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired over 80 mgs
- Failure to stop after accident
- Operation while prohibited
- Failure to comply with probation order
He was held for a bail hearing.
