Impaired Driver
On January 27th at 12:20am, Belleville Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision in the city’s west end. It was reported that a vehicle had driven into a snowbank and that the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Upon arrival, officers located the male driver who had returned to the vehicle. While speaking with him, officers observed signs of impairment.
As a result of investigation, Michael Maher, 46-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.
He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in March.
