Intimate Partner Violence
On December 30th at 1:39pm, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s north end following a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, it was reported that a male grabbed a woman by the hair and pushed her head against a wall.
As a result of investigation, a 44-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in February.
Impaired Driver
On December 31st at 3:19am, Belleville Police responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver after a male was observed to be asleep in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers repeatedly knocked on the driver’s side window to wake the male and subsequently observed signs of impairment.
As a result, a 49-year-old Belleville man, was arrested with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs. The investigation remains ongoing.
