He is described as 5’9”, 225 lbs, and was last seen wearing a navy shirt, a hat, and grey shoes. If located, do not approach and contact police immediately. On September 19th at approximately 9:20am, Belleville Police were called to Victoria Park following reports of a body in the water. Belleville Fire and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics also responded. Police can confirm a body has been recovered. There has been a significant development in a violent sexual assault case that occurred in July 2000 at a local hotel. After more than two decades, the case has resulted in a guilty plea and a substantial sentence. This outcome reflects the sustained efforts of Belleville Police Service detectives and forensic officers who remained committed to the investigation over many years. On August 29th, there was an incident at a Belleville hospital between police and a 35-year-old man. The Belleville Police Service has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) of the incident, and it has invoked its mandate. BELLEVILLE, ON – The Belleville Police Service, in partnership with the Belleville Police Association and the Police Association of Ontario, invites the community to join them for their annual Cops and Kids Fishing Derby. Children will have the opportunity to fish alongside Belleville Police Officers, Canadian Military Officers and more! The free fishing derby will take place on Saturday, August 30th, 2025, from 9:00am until 12:00pm at Victoria Park in Belleville. BELLEVILLE, ON – The Belleville Police Service is urging the public to be safe online following a recent influx of sextortion reports involving youth. Sextortion is a type of online child exploitation where a suspect convinces a victim to share private or sexual photos or videos, generally over social media. Once the suspect has the content, they often threaten to share it with the victim’s friends, family or school unless the victim sends money, gift cards or additional content. Parents are encouraged to have ongoing open conversations with their children about internet safety and the risks of sharing private content online.
