Shoplifting, Warrants

On July 25th at 2:44pm, Belleville Police responded to a shoplifting call at a west end business. Officers arrived and located the male suspect a short distance away. Upon investigation, officers learned the suspect was currently wanted on three outstanding warrants held by the Belleville Police Service. As a result, a 41-year-old Belleville man was arrested on the strength of the warrants and held for a bail hearing.

Stunt Driving

On July 27th at approximately 12:30am, Belleville Police on general patrol stopped a vehicle on Dundas St. W. that was travelling at 109km/h in a 60 km/h zone. As a result, a 29-year-old Kitchener man was charged with stunt driving under the Highway Traffic Act and issued a summons with a court date in August. His driver’s license was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

Warrants, Drug Arrest

On July 27th at approximately 8:00pm, Belleville Police stopped a male on Yeomans St. that had outstanding warrants by both Kingston and Northumberland OPP. Further investigation revealed he was also in possession of fentanyl and cocaine. As a result, a 29-year-old male of Barrie, was arrested and charged with:

  • Three counts of possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Failure to comply with a release order

He was held for a bail hearing.
