Vehicle stop leads to charges
Belleville ON - On the 8th of September 2020 at 1245pm, members of the Belleville Police Traffic Safety unit conducted a vehicle stop on North Front Street. Further investigation revealed that the driver, a 31-year-old Belleville resident had committed a number of vehicle violations. As a result, the driver was charged with operating an unsafe vehicle, using unauthorized plates, using unauthorized validation tags, operating a vehicle without insurance and being an unaccompanied G1 driver. The driver was released with an October 5th court date.
Shoplifter
Belleville ON- On the 8th of September 2020 at 1pm, Belleville Police attended a business on Bell Boulevard regarding a shoplifter. As a result of the investigation 26-year-old Christopher Gray of Belleville was charged with theft and released with an October 8th court date.
Boat fires
Belleville ON – On the 9th of September 2020 at 230am Belleville Fire and Belleville Police attended Victoria Park marina regarding two boats which were on fire. Belleville Fire extinguished the fires on both boats and no injuries were reported. The Ontario Fire Marshalls office and Belleville Police will be investigating the incident. Victoria Park will be closed pending the completion of the investigation.
