Belleville Police Service responded to 49 calls for service from the 6th of September 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to the 7th of September 2020 at 5:00 a.m.
Assault Results in Charges
Belleville, Ontario – On the 6th of September 2020 at 12:05 p.m. Police responded to the area of Charlotte Street with regards to a report of an assault. Police attended a residence and conducted an investigation that revealed a 33-year-old Belleville male, Shawn Burriss, had assaulted a male victim. Mr. Burriss was located a short time later where he was arrested and charged with one count of assault. Mr. Burriss was released on an Undertaking and was given a Court date of October 15th 2020 to face the charge.
City Police also report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on September 7th 2020. Police did respond to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included numerous noise complaints, disturbances, domestics, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, animal complaints, and calls to assist ambulance.
