Belleville Police Service responded to 79 calls for service from the 04th of September 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to the 05th of September 2020 at 5:00 a.m.
Breach of Court Order
Belleville, ON – On the 3rd of September shortly before 9:00 p.m. police responded to a call for service to assist ambulance at a north end hotel in relation to a 25-year-old male who was not showing any vital signs. EMS revived the male and he was transported to Quinte Health Care. Investigation revealed that the Sault Ste Marie resident was facing charges from his hometown for spousal assault, mischief and breach of probation and had been released on a court order by a Justice of the Peace on those charges. On the 4th of September at 6:00 am the male was arrested at 6:00 am after he was released from hospital for breaching his court order and taken to The Belleville Police Service where he was brought before a local Justice of the Peace via video remand and remanded into custody for a show cause hearing on the 8th of September.
Shoplifting
Belleville, ON – On the 4th of September at 10:30 am police received a call to a north end retailer with regards to a shoplifter. The theft had been resolved prior to police arrival however the male was identified as a suspect in a theft from the same store on the 3rd of September. 31-year-old Belleville resident Brandon Tebworth was arrested for the previous theft and released on a form 9 appearance notice with an October 8th court date
Breach of Probation
Belleville, ON – On the 4th of September at 12:00 p.m. police responded to a north end retailer with regards to a 27-year-old Belleville male who was breaching his probation for the second day in a row by attending there. The male was released on an undertaking with one count of breach of probation on the 3rd of September. This time when police located and arrested the male he was held in custody for a video remand before a Justice of The Peace on the 5th of September. The male faces two counts of breach of probation for the most recent incident. One for attending the store and a second for not keeping the peace and being of good behaviour.
Impaired Driver
Belleville, ON – On the 5th of September at 2:30 a.m., police were called to a North Front Street restaurant regarding an intoxicated male who had tried to walk through the drive through and had been turned away. The male returned a short time later driving a vehicle, and he attempted to place an order. Police arrived on scene, and the male was given a roadside breath test which he failed. The male was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he provided two breath samples. Francis De Grand Maison-Brassard, 26, of La Prairie Quebec was charged with driving with over 80mgs. He will appear in court on 1 October 2020.
