The Belleville Police responded to 79 calls for service between 5:00 a.m. on the 20th of September 2021 and 5:00 a.m. on the 21st of September 2021.

Bail Violations

Belleville ON-On the 20th of September 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Belleville Police were called to an address in the East end of the City regarding a male who was breaching court-imposed bail conditions regarding a number of outstanding domestic charges.  The male was no longer on scene when officers arrived.  At 6:00 p.m. an officer observed the male travelling in a taxi and he was arrested.  The 38-year-old Belleville resident was charged with 3 counts of failing to comply with his release conditions contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.  He was held for a bail hearing on the 21st of September 2021.

Pursuit Leads to Charges

Belleville ON-On the 21st of September 2021 at 0155 hrs. a Belleville Police officer on general patrol attempted to stop a vehicle in the north end of the city.  The vehicle driver refused to stop and continued at a high rate of speed away from the officer.  Another officer nearby successfully deployed a spike belt causing the vehicle’s tires to deflate.  The vehicle eventually came to a stop and after a short foot chase the driver was arrested.  The 39-year-old Whitby resident is charged with Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle contrary to section 320.13(1), Flight from a peace officer contrary to section 320.17, Operation while prohibited  X 6 contrary to section 320.18(1) and breach of probation contrary to section 733.1 of the Criminal Code of Canada.  The driver is being held for a bail hearing on the 21st of September 2021.
