Driving While Impaired
Belleville, ON – On the 18th of October 2020 at 8:50 p.m., an officer patrolling the North end of the city came upon a vehicle that was all over the road. The police officer pulled the vehicle over and quickly ascertained that the male driver was impaired due to having consumed numerous alcoholic beverages. The male was arrested for impaired driving and taken back to The Belleville Police Service to provide samples of his breath. He provided samples that were three times the legal limit and found himself charged accordingly. 60-year-old Belleville man, James Hickey was charged with driving while impaired and driving while his blood alcohol concentration being over 80mgs / 100ml of blood. He was given a court date of the 5th of November 2020 to answer to the charges.
Belleville, ON – On the 18th of October 2020, at 8:31 a.m., police were called to a West end location for a report of two young males racing their vehicles. Their reckless behaviour led to a vehicle crashing into a ditch. An investigation into the cause of the crass revealed that one of the drivers was driving while impaired by drugs. 20-year-old Daniel Easton of Campbellford was charged with driving while impaired by drugs, failing to stop after an accident, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and mischief. He was later released on a Form 10 with a first court date of the 5th of November 2020.
