The Belleville Police Service responded to 52 calls for service from October 17th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to October 18th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Driving While Suspended

Belleville, ON – On the 17th of October 2020 at 7:03 p.m. Police came upon an SUV that had a tail light out in the East end. When the officer activated his emergency lights to attempt to stop the vehicle, it took off at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was located a short time later and officers learned that the male driver was suspended. A 30-year-old male from Tyendinaga was charged for driving while suspended under the highway traffic act, section 53(1). He was released on a Part III with a court date of the 2nd of November 2020.


Belleville, ON – On the 18th of October 2020, at 2:45 a.m., police were called to a west end business for a report of broken glass. Police noticed that the glass at the front of the business was smashed out. The business was later secured and the investigation into the responsible persons is ongoing.
