Vehicle vs Bicycle
Belleville, ON. - On the 14th of October 2021 at 1:15 p.m. officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at the intersection of Bridge St. East and Burham St. The bicyclist struck the side of the vehicle and went over the handle bars of the bicycle. The rider was assessed by paramedics on scene but was released shortly after with minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle was charged with, turn – not in safety contrary to section 142(1) of the highway traffic act.
Domestic Assault
Belleville, ON – On the 14th of October 2021 at 2:42 p.m. officers responded to a domestic assault in the West end of the city. Information was provided to police that male was banging on the front door and proceeded to break a front window and enter the residence. The female victim and her child were able to escape out of the residence as police were arriving on scene. A 39-year-old Durham area resident was arrested without incident and charged with domestic assault, mischief and two accounts of breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing on October 15, 2021 at Quinte Consolidated Court.
Belleville, ON – On the 14th of October 2021 at 8:54 a.m. officers received a 911 call regarding a domestic dispute in the south/west end of the city. Officers arrived on scene and observed a male take off on foot from the victim’s residence. A short foot pursuit ensued, however the 26-year-old male was quickly apprehended. The male is being held for a bail on October 15th, 2021 on the following charges:
- 2 accounts of assault – section 266 Criminal Code
- Assault with a weapon – section 267(a) Criminal Code
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – section 88 Criminal Code
- Fail to comply with and Undertaking – section 145(4)(a) Criminal Code
- Possession for the purposed of trafficking – section 5(2) Controlled Drug and Substance Act
