The Belleville Police Service responded to 56 calls for service from October 10th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to October 11th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Charges and Imitation Firearm Seized

Belleville ON – On the 7th of October 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Belleville Police responded to a West end parking lot regarding a weapons complaint.  A male was reported to have brandished a firearm during an argument with another male and then fled the area.  As a result of the investigation a search warrant was executed at an east end residence on the 9th of October and an imitation hand gun was seized.  41-year-old James David Smith of Belleville was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.  Smith was released with a November 12th court date.

Assault and Breach Charges

Belleville ON – On the 10th of October 2020 at 2:30 a.m. Belleville Police attended a residence in the west end of the city regarding an assault complaint.  Further investigation resulted in 35-year-old Ryan Kleinsteuber of Belleville being charged with two counts of assault and two counts of breaching his probation.  He was released with an October 29th court date.  No serious injuries were reported by the victim. 

Intoxicated Female

Belleville, ON – On October 10th 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Belleville Police were called to a West end location for a report of an intoxicated female. A store employee called police stating a young female entered his store and is asking to go home. He further explained that she appeared disoriented as a result of having consumed a large amount of alcohol beverages.  A 24-year-old Bloomfield resident was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and is being held until sober.
