The Belleville Police Service responded to 33 calls for service from November 8th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to November 9th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville ON – On November 8th, 2020 at 12:39 p.m. police attended a two-vehicle collision in the city’s East end. There were no injuries, and the at fault driver was charged with Careless Driving contrary to Section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act.

Obstruct Police

Belleville ON - On November 8th, 2020 at 8:37 p.m. police stopped a motor vehicle for Highway Traffic Act offences in the east end of the city. Investigation found that the driver provided police with a false name in an attempt to avoid charges. The driver’s identity was later established by police. As a result, 30-year-old Alexander Green of Tyendinaga was charged with obstructing police and released on a Form 10 Undertaking with a December court date. Green was also charged with various Highway Traffic Act offences and issued a three-day licence suspension.

Public Intoxication

Belleville ON – On November 8th, 2020 at 9:56 p.m. police attended a disturbance in the city’s west end. Investigation revealed that a 40-year-old Belleville woman was at that location causing problems. She was subsequently arrested for her own protection after being found intoxicated in a public place, contrary to Section 31(4) of the Liquor Licence Act and was held at police headquarters until sober.
