Motor Vehicle Collision Leads to Impaired Driving Related Charge
Belleville, ON – On November 27th 2020 at 7:15 p.m., police were called to a North end location regarding a motor vehicle collision. On arrival, officers spoke to the drivers of the vehicles and noticed that one of the female drivers had the smell of alcoholic beverages on her breath. Officers administered a roadside test to the female which she subsequently failed and was arrested for driving while having over 80mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood. She was transported to The Belleville Police Service to undergo further testing the determine the amount of alcohol she had in her system. Once at the station, the female refused to provide samples of her breath. 33-year-old Hilary THOMAS of Belleville was charged with Refusing to comply with a demand contrary to section 320.15(1) of The Criminal Code of Canada. She was released on a promise to appear with a court date of the 17th of December 2020.
Breach of Undertaking
Belleville, ON – On November 27th 2020 at 11:04 a.m., police were called to an east location for a report of a male and a female arguing. After speaking with the involved parties, police were notified that the male in question was on conditions not to communicate with the female or be within 200 metres of the female as a result of a previous domestic occurrence. The 26-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged for breaching a release order x3. He was held for a bail hearing on the 28th of November 2020.
Ride Program
Belleville, ON – On the 27th of November 2020, Belleville Police Officers conducted the first of many festive ride programs to come. They checked over 200 vehicles without incident.
