Car Strikes Pedestrian
Belleville, ON- On 1 November 2021, at 8:25 a.m., police responded to a call regarding a 71-year-old male being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Sidney Street and Bridge Street West. Witnesses reported the male, who was crossing the crosswalk, was struck by a vehicle causing him to roll onto the hood and windshield of the vehicle before hitting the ground. The pedestrian was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries that were not considered serious at the time. The driver of the vehicle, a 60-year-old female from Belleville, was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
Tools Stolen from Trailer
Belleville, ON- On 31 October, 2021, police attended the area of Farnham Road regarding a break in to a construction trailer. Police were advised that sometime between 29 October and 31 October, unknown suspect(s) broke into the black construction trailer that was parked on Riverstone Drive. Various construction tools were stolen with an approximate value of $8000. Anyone with information on this theft is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service.
Impaired Driver
Belleville, ON- On 1 November 2021 at 7:08 p.m., police responded to a call about an impaired driver on Dundas Street East. The vehicle was located at a business on Dundas Street East a short time later. After a brief discussion with the driver, he clearly had been drinking, and he was arrested for impaired driving. He was transported to the Belleville Police station for a breath test. As a result, Terry Barlow, A 61-year-old from the Havelock area was charged with impaired driving, over 80mgs, and breach of probation. He was released on an undertaking with a court date of 25 November 2021.
