OPP Outstanding Warrant
On the 17th of November 2021 a thirty-four-year-old male Belleville, Ontario resident attended the Belleville Police Service to deliver clothing to a female who was already in custody on an unrelated matter. The male was recognized as a male wanted by OPP Lennox and Addington for drugs and weapons offences. The male was arrested at the front counter of Belleville Police Service, and was transferred to Ontario Provincial Police.
Weapons and Gun Offences
On 17 November 2021, at 11:00pm, police observed a vehicle that had been reported missing by a rental company the day prior. Police stopped the vehicle on Bridge Street West Belleville, Ontario and spoke to the female driver. Police learned that the female driver had a suspended license, and she was subsequently arrested. Police also observed open alcohol in the vehicle next to a male passenger. Police searched the vehicle and located ammunition, a taser, and a quantity of cocaine. As a result, a thirty-eight-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident Richard Gourlie was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service. Gourlie was charged with possession of a schedule I substance, possession of a prohibited weapon, and breach of probation. He was released with a court date of 20 December 2021.
