Weapons call East Side Secondary School
On November 15, 2021 staff of East Side Secondary School Belleville, Ontario received information that a male had attended the school with a firearm and was currently at the bus stop. Police attended the area and located the male out front of the school. The male a seventeen-year Shannonville, Ontario resident was arrested and subsequently charged with Obstruct Police and Uttering Threats to cause bodily harm. A search of the male and a further search of the area by K9 revealed no firearm. The seventeen-year-old male was held for a show cause hearing on November 16, 2021. In compliance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act the name of the youth is not being released.
Drive Disqualified
On November 16, 2021 at 2:20 a.m. while on general patrol a Uniform Patrol officer observed a motor vehicle cross North Front Street at Earl Street in the city of Belleville. It was determined that the driver of the vehicle was disqualified. The vehicle was attempted to be stopped at which point the male pulled into a private drive and fled on foot. The male was located a short time later and taken into custody. As a result, fifty-eight-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident Richard Woodland was arrested and charged with the criminal offence of Operate Motor Vehicle while Prohibited and released with a court date of December 9th, 2021.
The Belleville Police had a steady 24 hours responding to 73 calls for service.
