The Belleville Police responded to 78  calls for service between 05:00 a.m. on 06 May 2020 and 07 May 2020 05:00 a.m..

Prohibited Drive

Belleville ON, On 05 May 2020 at 11:00 a.m. an officer was patrolling on Boswell St. and stopped a vehicle. The driver identified himself and after an investigation it was determined that the driver was a prohibited driver. Scott Reid a 48 yr old Bancroft man was charged with one count of Drive While Prohibited and released on an undertaking with a court date of 09 July 2020.

Impaired Driver

Belleville ON, On 06 May 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Belleville Police received a call about a possible impaired driver on Station St. Officers located the vehicle and there were grounds to arrest the male for Impaired Driving. The male was taken into custody. As a result, Randell Bell a 60 yr old male from Belleville, was charged with over 80 and released on an undertaking. His court date is 09 July 2020.

Weapons Charges

Belleville ON, On 06 May 2020 at 3:00 p.m. officers attended at a business on Dundas St East. Persons inside the business observed a male touching the cars in the lot, and urinating on them. When the male was confronted he pulled a knife. Police attended and arrested the 33 yr old Belleville male. He was charged with weapons dangerous and 3 counts of breaching his undertaking. He was held for a bail hearing on 07 May 2020. There were no injuries.

 UPDATE

Belleville ON - On May 6th 2020, members of the Belleville Police Service Criminal Investigations Division and the Forensic Identification Unit continued an investigation from earlier in the day which was initially reported as a robbery.  The 36 year old male victim from Belleville was transported to Quinte Health Care Emergency Department where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and later released. 

As a result of the investigation, two male Young Persons from Belleville aged 15 years and 17 years old were charged with Assault with a Weapon and Assault Causing Bodily Harm.  All three males were released on an Undertaking with conditions and a court date in July 2020.  The Young Persons cannot be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
