The Belleville Police Service responded to 63 calls for service from the 2nd of May 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to the 3rd of May 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Domestics

Belleville, ON – On the 2nd of May 2020, at approximately 11:50 p.m., police officers were called to an East end location regarding a domestic assault in progress. The female was able to leave the residence but reported to police that the suspect had been consuming cocaine, meth and a bottle of raid. When officers arrived at the residence, the male took off on the run but officers caught up to him after a foot chase of over a kilometer. When they caught up to the male, he became combative with police and spat on one of the officers. The male was eventually subdued with a conductive energy weapon and was taken into police custody. A 26-year-old Belleville man was charged with a 22-count information including:

  • Mischief x3
  • Breach of Probation x6
  • Uttering a Death Threat x2
  • Assault Peace Officer
  • Resisting a Peace Officer
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance
  • Intimidation
  • Assault with a Weapon x3
  • Assault x3
  • Assault cause Bodily Harm

The male also had and outstanding warrant for his arrest for 2 other breaches of probation stemming from another incident earlier this year. Suffice to say that the male was held for a Show Cause Hearing on the 3rd of May 2020.

Belleville, ON – On the 2nd of May 2020, at approximately 12:35 a.m., police were called an East end location regarding a Domestic Dispute. When officers arrived, both parties were still at the scene. After speaking with them, police arrested the male for one count of an assault on the female. A 33-year-old Belleville man was released on a Form 10 with a court date for the 13th of July 2020.
