The Belleville Police Service responded to 78 calls for service from March 19th, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to March 20th, 2021 at 5:00 a.m.

Theft Under $5000

Belleville, ON – On the 19th of March 2021 at 12:45 p.m., Police responded to a business on Millennium Parkway regarding a shoplifting incident. On arrival, Police conducted an investigation that revealed a male suspect took property, a value of less than $5000, leaving the business with no attempt to pay for the items. The Belleville male was identified as 31-year-old Nick McMath. Mr. McMath was arrested for Theft Under $5000 and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was released on an Undertaking. He was given a court date of the 22nd of April 2021 to face the charge.

Theft Under $5000  

Belleville, ON – On the 19th of March 2021 at 2:11 p.m., Police responded to a business on Millennium Parkway regarding a shoplifting incident. On arrival, Police conducted an investigation that revealed a male suspect took property, a value of less than $5000, leaving the business with no attempt to pay for the items. The male was identified as 48-year-old Jeffery Mote. Mr. Mote was arrested for Theft Under $5000 and released on an Appearance Notice. He was given a court date of the 15th of April 2021 to face the charge.

City Police also report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on March 20th 2021.  Police did respond to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included numerous noise complaints, disturbances, domestics, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, animal complaints, and calls to assist ambulance.
