The Belleville Police Service responded to 62 calls from June 8th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to June 9th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Disturbance

Belleville, ON- On 8 June 2020, at 7:30 p.m., Belleville Police were called to Pinnacle Street regarding an intoxicated male who had brandished a weapon and was causing a disturbance. Police spoke with witnesses who advised that a male had a knife in his hand while arguing with another male. The suspect male was located and arrested. The 30-year-old Belleville man was charged with public intoxication and held in custody until sober.

Trespassing Arrest.

Belleville, ON- On 8 June 2020, at 10:00 p.m. Belleville Police received a call regarding two males jumping the fence at a North Front Street business. Police attended and located two males in the fenced in compound attempting to steal flowers. Both males were arrested. Given that there was no damage to the property, and nothing was stolen, the 35-year-old and 33-year-old males from Belleville were issued tickets for trespassing.

Alcohol Related Licence Suspension

Belleville, Ontario- On 8 June 2020, at 11:10 p.m., officers were patrolling the east end when they observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officers attempted to catch up to the vehicle as it was observed failing to stop for a red light and a stop sign. The vehicle was eventually stopped entering the driveway at a Pine Street address. Police spoke to the driver, a 34-year-old Belleville man, who smelled of alcohol. A roadside alcohol screening test was conducted, and the male was issued a 3-day licence suspension. He was also charged with failing to stop for a red light, and failing to stop for a stop sign.
