Motor Vehicle Collision – Fail to Remain

Belleville, ON – On the 27th of June 2020, at approximately 10:45 p.m., police were called to an area in Thurlow regarding a single motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the male driver who advised he hit a sign while trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle that came into his lane. The complainant’s vehicle went into the ditch after hitting the sign and had to be towed. The driver did not have any vehicle descriptors given that it was dark at the time of the collision. Liquor Licence Act

Belleville, ON – On the 27th of June 2020, at approximately 10:38 p.m., Belleville Police officers were dispatched to South Front Street for an intoxicated male in the water. When officers arrived, the male began to swim out further into the bay. Attempts to negotiate with the male to return to shore proved to be futile. After being in the water for close to an hour and a half, officers, with the assistance of The Belleville Fire Department, were able to retrieve the male by boat and return him to shore safely. The 36-year-old Belleville Man was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and later released on a Part III Summons.
