The Belleville Police responded to 74 calls for service between 5:00 a.m. on 24 June 2020 and 5:00 a.m. on 25 June 2020.
Internet Child Exploitation Unit – Arrests
Belleville, ON – On the 19th of June 2020, members of the Belleville Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit, Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Unit executed two separate search warrants at addresses in Belleville. As a result of the police investigations and search warrants two people were charged with criminal offences.
- Brandon Simms, 18 years old of Belleville was charged with Accessing Child Pornography and Possession of Child Pornography. Simms was released on an Undertaking with conditions and a court date in August 2020.
- A 16 year old male of Belleville who can not be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act was charged with Accessing Child Pornography and Possession of Child Pornography. The Youth was released on an Undertaking with conditions and a court date in August 2020.
Stolen vehicle
Belleville, ON- On 24 June 2020, at 2:00 p.m., Belleville Police attended a North Front Street hotel regarding a vehicle that had been stolen. The owner of the vehicle had exited her vehicle to pick someone up at the hotel when that person entered the vehicle and fled the area. Police are looking for a brown 2014 Ford Taurus with a licence plate of CJTP021. Anyone who sees that vehicle is asked to contact police.
