Fatal Pedestrian -Vehicle Collision
Belleville ON- On the 16th of June 2021 at 530 p.m. Belleville Police along with other emergency services attended the intersection of Sidney Street and Dundas Street West regarding a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. As a result of the collision, the 31-year-old pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time. Investigators from the Traffic Safety Unit are asking anyone who witnessed or may have dash cam video of the incident to contact them at 613-966-0882 ext. 4160. The intersection was reopened at 1:00 a.m. and the investigation is continuing.
Warrant Arrest
Belleville ON- On the 16th of June 2021 at 8:00 a.m. Belleville Police were dispatched to Linton Park Drive regarding a male who appeared to be passed out under a tree. Officers arrived on scene and recognized the male who was currently wanted on an outstanding warrant for breaching his probation order. The male attempted to flee while speaking with officers and after a short foot chase was arrested. The 27-year-old Belleville resident is being held for a bail hearing on the 17th of June 2021.
Motor Vehicle Collision
Belleville ON-On the 16th of June 2021 at 7:00 a.m. Belleville Police were dispatched to the intersection of Wallbridge-Loyalist Road and Moira Street West regarding a motor vehicle collision. No injuries were reported but both vehicles were not driveable. As a result of the investigation a 23-year-old Belleville resident was charged with careless driving contrary to section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act.
