Disturbance leads to arrests

Three people were arrested by Belleville Police after a 20-person melee was reported on June 13 in the city’s east end.  Just before 8:30pm, multiple calls were received about a large fight occurring at a Bleecker Avenue address. The responding officers separated the angry crowd and were able to identity three major contributors to the disturbance.  Paramedics attended and treated a female for minor injuries.  A 27-year-old Bayside woman and a 48-year-old Belleville man were arrested for being intoxicated in a public place contrary to the Liquor License Control Act. They were issued Provincial Offence Notices.  Eric Parrinder, 31-years-old of Belleville was arrested and charged with one count of assault.  He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in July.

Suspended Driver

On the 13th of June at 10:54am, a member of the Belleville Police Traffic Management Unit was monitoring the speed of traffic on Cannifton Rd and as a result, stopped a vehicle for speeding.  The officer learned that the driver was suspended from driving.  Further, the 28-year-old Belleville man was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant from a nearby policing agency.  The driver was charged by the Belleville Police for speeding and driving while suspended.  He was issued a summons for traffic court in August.  The nearby policing agency attended and returned the male on the strength of their warrant.
