Assault
Belleville, ON – On July 5th 2020 at 11:42 a.m., police were called to an East end residence for a reported assault. The investigation revealed that a male had assaulted a female. Police arrested a 33-year old city man, and charged him with one count of spousal assault. He was taken into custody, and released a short time later on an undertaking with a court date in August. Police are not releasing the name of the man in order to protect the identity of the victim.
Tires Slashed
Belleville, ON – On July 5th 2020 at 3:28 p.m., police were called to the area of Marsh Drive for a reported tire slashing. The investigation revealed that unknown person(s) had slashed two tires on a motor vehicle belonging to the complainant. This occurred some time between 8:30 p.m. on July 4th to 07:00 a.m. on July 5th. Investigation into the matter is continuing, and police are asking anyone who may have information to please contact investigating officer Cst. Disturbance Leads to Arrest
Belleville, ON – On July 5th 2020 at 4:22 p.m., police were called to the area of Moira Street East and North Park Gardens regarding a disturbance. After completing an investigation, police arrested a 17-year old male youth for possession of a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The male, who cannot be identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was later released on an undertaking with a future court date.
Bail Violation
Belleville, ON – On July 5th 2020 at 6:26 p.m., police were called to Belleville General Hospital regarding a female who was found to be breaching an earlier release order. This investigation resulted in a 20-year old city female being arrested. She was taken into custody and will appear for a bail hearing on July 5th.
Theft from Motor Vehicle
Belleville, ON – On July 5th 2020 at 6:45 p.m., police attended to a residence on the west side of the city for a reported theft from a motor vehicle. An investigation revealed that a motor vehicle had been broken into during the previous night time hours. Numerous personal items were stolen.
