Belleville Police Service responded to 58 calls for service from the 24th of July 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to the 25th of July 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

 

Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville ON- On the 24th of July 2020 at approximately 1:30pm police responded to the intersection of Catherine St and Cedar St for a motor vehicle collision.  A male riding a motorcycle received minor injuries after he crashed in order to avoid a car that turned into his path. As a result of the investigation, the driver of the at fault vehicle was charged for failing to yield to traffic on a through highway, contrary to Section 136(1)(b) of the Highway Traffic Act.

 

Police Pursuit

Belleville ON- On the 24th of July 2020 at approximately 11:55pm police attempted to stop a vehicle on Dundas St E.  Officers recognized the driver as being wanted on a warrant.  The vehicle fled eastbound and Tyendinaga Police and OPP units assisted in deploying a spike belt near Highway 49.  Three of the tires on the vehicle were deflated but the car kept driving into Napanee at slow speed.  Eventually the vehicle was stopped on Palace Rd and three adults were arrested and charged as follows:

Victorya LADOUCEUR, 26-yrs old of Belleville

  • Six counts of failing to comply with a release order
  • Dangerous Driving
  • Flight from police
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance: cocaine

 

Cody LAIRD, 28-yrs old of Belleville

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance: cocaine
  • Failing to comply with an Undertaking

 

  • Justin MCMAHON, 35-yrs old of Belleville
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance: cocaine
  • Failing to comply with an Undertaking

 

All three accused parties were held for bail hearings. The incident is still under investigation and further information may be released at a later date.
