Arrested on Warrants
Belleville, ON – On July 1st 2021 at 2:14 p.m., police came across a man wanted on arrest warrants in the area of Bridge Street East and Front Street. The investigation confirmed the charges on the warrants. The 30-year old man was arrested and taken into custody on the outstanding charges of breaching a release order (3 counts), breach of probation, and possession of cocaine. The same man was also wanted by the Centre Hastings O.P.P. on charges of theft of a motor vehicle, failing to comply with a release order, and failing to comply with a probation order. He was further arrested on these warrants as well. His name is being withheld pending his bail hearing this afternoon at the Ontario Court of Justice.
Charges in Collision
Belleville, ON – On July 1st 2021 at 5:42 p.m., police and EMS were called to Thrasher Road for a report of a single motor vehicle that had crashed and flipped into a ditch. The female driver and a young child were fortunate to have not been injured in the crash. Police noted that damage to the vehicle was severe, and it was required to be towed away. After completing the investigation, a 37-year old city woman was charged under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act with the offences of driving while suspended, and careless driving. She was issued Part #3 summonses to appear in the Provincial Offences Court on September 13th 2021.
