The Belleville Police Service responded to 43 calls for service from January 16th, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to January 17th, 2021 at 5:00 a.m.
Unlawfully in a Dwelling
Belleville, ON – January 16th, 2021 – 5:30 a.m.
City police were dispatched to an east end residence regarding a possible break and enter. The complainant advised police that his ex-girlfriend entered his residence with another one of her acquaintances but left prior to police arrival. Both suspects were located at a convenience store close the complainant’s residence and both girls were apprehended.
The investigation revealed that the break and enter was unfounded and one of the girls were released unconditionally. The other suspect who was the ex-girlfriend of the complainant was charged with one count of being Unlawfully in a Dwelling.
The 18-year-old female accused from Belleville was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to attend court on February 18th, 2021 to answer to her charge. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
Breach of Court Order
Belleville, ON – January 17th, 2021 – 1:00 a.m.
City police were dispatched to a hotel lobby on North Front Street in regards to a male interacting with one of the front desk clerks in a suspicious manner. The complainant advised police dispatch that the suspect was asking the clerk about professional escorts and if the hotel was robbed on a regular basis.
City police arrived on scene shortly thereafter and contacted the suspect noting that the male had a strong alcoholic order coming from him. Officers determined that the suspect was intoxicated. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had numerous court release order conditions out of Oshawa and was in breach of one.
Officers arrested the accused for one count of Breach of a Judicial Release Order and transported him back to the Belleville Police Service. The 26-year-old man from Belleville was Charged and held in custody and is scheduled to attend a Show Cause Hearing on January 17th, 2021 to answer to his charge.
