Robbery
Belleville, ON – On the 1st of February 2021 at approximately 11:30 p.m. police responded to a robbery in Shell Gas station on Dundas St. West. A male employee reported that an unknown male entered the business and hoped the counter, taking a number of items. The male fled the scene. The male is described as being in his mid-late teens, black, approximately 6’0” in height, thin build. He was wearing a black jacket, with a black backpack and wearing gray track pants, the male was further observed to be wearing red running shoes and a white COVID-19 mask. He fled the scene, and was last observed running north bound across Dundas St. Anyone with any information on the suspect is encouraged to call Cst. Motor Vehicle Collision leads to Charge
Belleville, ON – On the 1st of February 2021, shortly before 4:00 p.m., officers responded to a 2-vehicle collision in the area of Loyalist College on Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd. No injuries were reported to police, but damage to both motor vehicles was moderate. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Through the investigation, it was determined that the at fault driver made a left turn not safely. As a-result a 23-year-old female from Belleville was charged with section 141(5) of the Highway Traffic Act. Anyone who may have witness the collision is asked to call Cst. Domestic Disturbance
Belleville, ON - On the 1st of February 2021 shortly after 8:30 p.m. Belleville Police attended a west end address after receiving a call that there was a disturbance at a residence. Police arrived on scene and observed a male who appeared to have been involved in a physical altercation attempting to enter the residence. Investigating officers arrested the male party, who resisted arrest but was taken into custody. As a result, a 47-year-old Belleville man was arrested, and is facing charges of two counts of assault, mischief, assault with a weapon, resisting arrest and breach of probation. He is being held for a bail hearing on 2nd of February 2021. His name is not being released to protect the identity of the victims.
City Police report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on February 2nd, 2021. Police responded to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included noise complaints, disturbances, domestics disputes, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, and calls to assist ambulance.
