Intoxicated in a Public Place

At approximately 5:45 p.m. on the 8th of December 2021, Belleville Police responded to the area of Marsh Drive regarding a male banging on residential doors and yelling. Police attended the area and located an 18-year-old Belleville, Ontario male yelling in the street. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and was transported to the Belleville Police Service. The male was later released on a Provincial Offences Notice. 

Assault of Public Transport Drivers 

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on the 8th of December 2021, Belleville Police responded to the Quinte Mall regarding a City bus driver who had been assaulted by a passenger on the bus. Brave citizens and a second City bus driver held the thirty-one-year-old Belleville, Ontario male until police arrived. The male was placed under arrest for assaulting both bus drivers. Further investigation revealed that the male was also breaching his probation. The male was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he is being held for bail on two counts of Assault and two counts of Breach of Probation.

Breach of Undertaking and Possession of Drugs

At approximately 10:45 p.m. on the 8th of December 2021, Police responded to 291 North Front Street regarding a domestic occurring within the lobby of the hotel. Police attended and investigation revealed the male involved, a 34-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident, was breaching his prior release conditions. The male was arrested for Breach of Undertaking and transported to the Belleville Police Service. Upon searching the male, incident to arrest, a small quantity of illegal narcotics was located on his person. As a result, he was further charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and will later be released with a court date of January 17th 2022.

City Police also report a fairly steady 24-hour period responding to 95 calls for service ending at 5:00 a.m. on December 9th 2021.
