The Belleville Police Service responded to 48 calls from December 5th 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to December 6th 2020 at 5:00 a.m.
Road Rage
Belleville, ON – On December 5th 2020 at 10:56 a.m., police were called to a business in the Cannifton Road and College Street East area for a report of a disturbance. An investigation revealed that a motor vehicle driving out from the business was suddenly accosted by another driver driving into the same location. Both drivers stopped, and words were exchanged. The accused then got out of his vehicle, proceeding to the vehicle the victim sat in. Here, the accused punched the victim, striking him about the head. The accused then quickly left the area in his vehicle. Witnesses to this event were able to provide police with a description of the offender, along with the make and licence plates of his automobile. Police located a man, believed to be the offender, one hour later on Cannifton Road. Police arrested and charged 40-year old city resident Tyler Brian Branscombe with one count of assault. He was released on an Appearance Notice with a first appearance court date set for January 21st 2021. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this to please contact investigating officer Cst. 9-1-1 calls x’s 13
Belleville, ON – Police received a total of thirteen 9-1-1 calls between December 5th 2020 at 5:00 a.m. and December 6th 2020 at 5:00 a.m. Of these, two were investigated to be duplicate calls, two were founded to be accidental dials, three more already had their requests answered as EMS was already on scene with them, another three were in accidental dials, and three were for people requiring minor assistance, which police quickly cleared without further incident, arrest, or charge.

City police conducted a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere program on the evening of 05 December and into the early morning of 06 December. A total of 216 motor vehicles and their drivers were checked for any signs of alcohol or drug impairment. Two roadside breath demands were made. One driver was issued a 72-hour driving suspension, and another was charged with being a novice driver and having a blood/alcohol content above zero.
