The Belleville Police Service responded to 67 calls for service from December 3rd, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to December 4th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Arrest for Theft and Breach of Probation

Belleville, ON – On the 3rd of December 2020 at 5:30 p.m. Police received information that a male who committed a theft of a City bus drivers property on December 2nd, 2020 was in the area of the City bus terminal. Police attended the area and located the suspect male. The 27-year-old Belleville male was arrested for theft under $5000 and further investigation revealed that the male was also breaching his probation. The male was then arrested for Breach of Probation and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he is being held for bail on both charges.

Arrested for Break & Enter, Mischief and Harassment

Belleville, ON – On the 3rd of December 2020 at 6:30 p.m. Police arrested a 31-year-old Quinte West man for Break & Enter, Mischief and Criminal Harassment stemming from an incident that occurred at 3:20 p.m. on the 3rd of December 2020 in the area of Redwood Drive. The male was arrested and lodged at the Belleville Police Service where he is being held for bail on all charges.

Trespass to Property Act Charges

Belleville, ON – On the 4th of December 2020 at 3:20 a.m. Police responded to an unwanted female at a local business on North Front Street. Upon arrival, Police learned that the female had helped herself to some snacks within the business and refused to pay for them. The 36-year-old Quinte West female was arrested for theft and, at the request of the business, issued a Provincial Offences Notice for Engage in Prohibited Activity on Premises under the Trespass to Property Act.

City Police also report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on December 4th 2020.  Police did respond to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included numerous noise complaints, disturbances, domestics, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, animal complaints, and calls to assist ambulance. Further, several motor vehicle collisions were referred to the Collision Reporting Center located at the Belleville Police Service.
